Warranty

DURHAM TIMBER PRODUCTS LTD

12-Month Limited Warranty

At Durham Timber Products Ltd, we take pride in the quality of our buildings. All of our timber buildings are supplied with a 12-month limited warranty covering manufacturing defects.

What is Covered

This warranty covers faults or failures arising from errors in the manufacturing process. If an issue occurs within 12 months of delivery that is due to a manufacturing fault, we will, at our discretion, repair, replace, or refund the affected item.

Timber Treatment & Maintenance

All buildings are supplied with a factory-applied base coat, designed to offer temporary protection during transit and short-term storage.
To ensure long-term protection, we recommend applying a high-quality timber treatment as soon as possible after assembly, and re-treating annually. Failure to do so may void your warranty.

What is Not Covered

This warranty does not cover:

  • Natural characteristics of timber, such as warping, cracking, or splitting, which may occur due to temperature or humidity changes.
  • Cosmetic changes over time, including discolouration, fading, dulling, or minor surface marks.
  • Damage caused by weather events, including storms, high winds, or extreme conditions.
  • Condensation or water ingress, which may result from environmental factors or site conditions.
  • General wear and tear, including deterioration from normal usage or neglect.

Additional Notes

To maintain your warranty, please ensure your building is installed on a suitable, level base and is not subject to excessive damp or poor site drainage. Improper siting or maintenance may result in the warranty being voided.

Maintenance Recommendations

Regular maintenance will help extend the life of your building and ensure it remains in good working condition. We recommend the following routine checks and care:

  • Check and tighten screws, bolts, and fixings periodically.
  • Inspect door and window hinges to ensure they are secure and aligned.
  • Lubricate locks, hinges, and moving parts with suitable oil or grease to prevent rust and sticking.
  • Ensure doors and windows open and close freely.
  • Keep gutters (if fitted) clear of debris to prevent overflow and water damage.
  • Trim back any vegetation growing around the base of the building to maintain airflow and reduce moisture retention.
